If students are supported by a bursary from the NHS, they may be entitled to claim certain travel and accommodation expenses incurred during clinical placement only. This reimbursement is made by the NHS Student Grants Unit. If during the course of duties on placement additional travel expenses are incurred, for example completing a home visit, students should have this certified by the clinical educator.
For students not receiving a bursary, the student is responsible for all costs incurred from travelling to and from the clinical placement and between placement sites. Students are advised that the University will meet no such costs.
