|WELCOME to the site for Practice Educators and Supervisors for social work students. |
We designed the web site for Practice Educators and Supervisors that support social work students from London South Bank University in practice. Support for students is a key component of delivering courses for pre-qualifying social workers therefore a high priority for the School. Practice experience is central to the BA and MA programmes leading to registration as a social worker at point of qualification. The School has a large number of placement opportunities in both traditional settings as well as the Private Voluntary and Independent Sector that provide appropriate and excellent learning.
The information in the website is to support Practice Educators and Supervisors and others involved in supervising students learning in practice. The requirements for supervising students are set out in the Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) for social work. Ensuring learning environments for students is an important part of the partnership between the School of Health and Social Care and our practice placement providers.
This site will include relevant documentation that will enable relevant staff from practice settings to facilitate all areas of a student’s learning whilst in placement.
